About OilginTM DHA
DHA stands for docosahexaenoic acid. It is a long-chain Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid that has been shown to have substantial health benefits to both mom and baby. It cannot be synthesized by human body itself but supplied by the food.
Health Benefits:
- It is a major fatty acid and comprises portions of the brain and retinal tissue. It is accounting for up to 97% of the omega-3 fats in the brain and up to 93% of the omega-3 fats in the retina.
- DHA is especially important for the development of our nervous system and visual abilities during the first 6 months of life. It dominates in the brain and visible development of infants, especially being required by the pregnant and milk feeding women as well as infants. DHA is present in breast milk and has been added to some infant formulas.
- Dietary DHA may reduce the risk of heart disease by reducing the level of blood triglycerides in humans. It¡¯s also a key component of the heart and cardiovascular system, and one of the omega-3 fatty acids recommended by the American Heart Association and USDA Dietary Guidelines for good cardiovascular health
OilginTM DHA is DHA commercially manufactured from microalgae (Crypthecodinium cohnii). It is an all vegetable-source DHA. The shelf life of the product is 24 months in cool condition(4¡æ - 10¡æ). The shelf life of the product is 12 months under room temperature(below 25¡æ).It should be used in one week after opened.
